Symptoms of Depression

Symptoms of postnatal depression

Postnatal depression is one of the varieties of depression which is very common lately in women that gave birth to a baby. This form of depression appears as a result of the shock from the childbirth because of the physical pain and emotional breakdown. The symptoms manifest as rejection (sometimes disgust) of the woman forward her own baby. The treatment is mandatory since postnatal depression requires strongly the intervention of the specialist due to the fact that this concerns not only the mother, but the child also. If the form is aggressive, it is easier to identify the problem from the beginning. This permits to treat the disorder quickly.

Symptoms of endogenous depression

The depression is more difficult to be detected when instead of aggression the person manifests stupor. This state can be a simple form of calmness or endogenous depression. This kind of depression has its particular symptoms. In a few words, a person having this disorder appears to be frozen. The reaction is delayed. Aggression is easier and quicker to be observed than apathy; therefore endogenous depression is a more complicated type of depression.

If a person has a hidden depression, its symptoms are not obvious; consequently it’s more difficult to help in such cases. A threatening sign may be the unusual behavior of the person and in this situation it is very useful to pay an increased attention to the person.

How long depression lasts?

Depression is a disease, it has its symptoms and length and evidently at each person it develops distinctly. Into account are taken the reasons of its occurrence, how quickly was identified its occurrence and what method of treatment is applied. For example, the signs of the postnatal depression in women are evident immediately after the childbirth or in the following 1-3 days. The first indicators of this depression are manifested in the refuse of the mother to take the baby, feed or swaddle him. The woman may behave aggressively or on the contrary can be introverted.

It is important to mention that no matter what type of depression a person has, if the person or the expert doesn’t pay attention to it, serious consequences can follow. Seeking the specialist’s help too late can also lead to deep depression that has the same symptoms, but in a more aggravated form due to the passage of time. In this situation the treatment and the adapting period will last longer.

Physical symptoms of depression

Besides the emotional rushes, depression has also physical symptoms. If you get tired quickly from insignificant things, often feel malaise and have headaches, think about it and analyze. One of the most common physical symptoms of depression is chronic fatigue in the morning for several days in a row.

In any case, treat yourself with attention always and anywhere. Don’t ignore the problem, as lately depression is very often in our society and people are less able to fight it on their own.
